When the days start getting shorter and I am starting to think about sitting around the fireplace instead of standing around an outdoor grill, I know it is time to do some fall cleaning.
We had quite a bit of construction going on this summer and the drywall dust flew everywhere. I have been working my way through one room at a time, starting at the top of each room and working my way down.
This past weekend, I tackled the dining room. Do you have an easy way to clean blinds? I don't mean when they are just dusty - I use a Swifter for that. But when they are grimy and dusty, they need a little more elbow grease. Here is what I do...
I spray Windex onto a clean old white sock, that I wear on my hand.
See the dirt on the blinds below?
See the pretty view outside those blinds? We can't have dirty blinds spoiling that view, can we?
Sock on hand.
Yikes!! Look how dirty!!
Much better....all cleaned.
Oops....Look how dirty the windows are!!!! Next up, window cleaning, inside and out.
Normally, my windows wouldn't be that dirty. But this house sat empty for 2 years, then with the wood floors being sanded, and the dry wall repairs and the bathroom construction, it didn't make sense to clean them, until that work was all finished.
Back to work!
