The Closet "Office" So Far

On Monday's post, I talked about sewing curtains for the dining room and creating an "office" space in a closet in the den.

So far, the dining curtains are finished and hung up.  We have to do a little rearranging of furniture and pictures in there (hopefully tomorrow) and I will post pictures in the next day or so.

Here is what the closet office looks like in the den so far.

A few of you mentioned that the closet looked kind of small for an office space.  Actually I just want a place for my computer and some books.  I don't need an "office" space.  I don't need file cabinets, etc, so this space is perfect.

Here are some inspiration photos I found on line.

Currently I have a nice large screened computer, that is all one piece.  The hard drive is in the monitor.  It is the computer that I use for everything.  I love the size for editing pictures.

Eventually I will be getting a notebook, so that I can use my computer anywhere - even outside on the porch.  But I will probably always have the larger one and this will be a great place for it.

Next post will be the dining room with the curtains finished, and when the closet is finished I will post on that some time this coming week.

I love the idea of converting a closet to an office space. Everyone needs a place to store things and place their computer. I have a cabinet in the kitchen for ours. We still have a laptop that we use in the family room too. The computer in the cabinet is connected to the printer though and houses bills and misc supplies etc. Everyone needs a place like that! I remember my mom used to have a walk in closet in her bathroom (when I was growing up) that she used as a sewing room. Makes perfect sense!

I think this is going to be the perfect space. So nice to have a dedicated spot even if it is small. YOur first inspiration pic is wonderful, I love the shelves on the sides. Hugs, Marty

Wow, you are making amazing progress Penny, you must really be disciplined to stay on task. I seem to get easily distracted. I think your little desk area looks just charming and will be so handy and yet not a centerpiece in the room. I'm sure it will be just beautiful!! Blessings, Linda

I've always wanted to have a space similar to that where I could shut a door and it would be gone. No tower? Hmmmm...I must have a dinosaur. LOL!

This is a great idea if you have an abundance of closet space. I really like the one with the built in hutch and shelves on the side. It's bright and cheery and I always love the look of a rich wood surface with white cabinetry. I look forward to seeing your interpretation:>)

I think it's going to be great! Just the right amount of space. I know you've been busy with all the decorating you're doing, but if you get the chance stop by my blog. I found a sweet deal at the thrift store that was "inspired" so to speak by you. Have a great Sunday!

The second space looks like what you are maybe working toward Penny - will be the perfect small 'office' for your computer. Enjoy.......will visualize you sitting there and 'talking' to us eventually!

Looks great to me. If that is all the space you need. There won't be clutter.

Love the inspiration photos! I think it's nice to have the computer tucked out of the way.

The second decorated "office" looks like about the same amount of space you have. I like the "tucked in" feeling of all the offices you show.
