I was going to take some more pictures of my house today to share, but it is raining and foggy outside and dark inside.
I was also going to start painting my master bedroom today. But, the fire looked so nice, I made some tea and grabbed my nook and started reading. I guess I will start painting my bedroom tomorrow.
What did you do today? Any plans for the weekend?

I'd take the reading over painting any day!! The fire looks lovely! Have you already posted pics? I have to look back.
We are supposed to have rain, sleet and snow tomorrow, it seems the weather can't make up it's mind on how to torture us.
Happy Weekend, Penny!
XO,
Jane
Haven't done much...it is cold here and I don't have a nice fireplace. I did wash the floors so at least I did do something!
Yes! Football playoffs on Sunday. Go SEAHAWKS!
Have a great weekend; I think planning the new arrangements, etc., are a major part of the fun. We'll look forward to the results.
xoxo
It's a dreary day here too Penny but the weekend is suppose to be beautiful. I went shopping with my mom today, we both came home with some new goodies! Happy weekend:)
Oh, Penny, I think you made the right choice! I would have loved doing this today! I am working, but it was an easy day. I am subbing for high school Social studies! For movies and two 45 minute prep periods. I cannot complain!! I am off in less than an hour and plan on relaxing all evening! Have a great weekend!!

How nice that you did not push yourself and instead grabbed the chance to sit by the fire and relax. You deserve it! Looks very cozy there.
Oh... Haven't thought much about the weekend...supposed to be a sleet and freezing rain event overnight so perhaps I will sit by my fake fire. :)
Penney, you made a good choice!! Sometimes we just have to take time to do nothing. Your projects will wait, I have discovered. It is gloomy and dark here also, not so terribly motivating. But, there is virtue in resting.
i love seeing how your new place is coming together....i went for a swim and layed in the sun today.....this morning i worked on my project...a wool piece i am going to make into a pillow....
My choice would have been to sit by the fire and read. But, I was out in the cold drizzly rain running errands. My project room will keep us busy over the weekend I'm sure! Hope yours is a fun one!
You must be getting the weather we've had all week. Today is our first clear, sunny day. Enjoy your cup of tea and your read. ;-)
I went to a home and garden show at the civic center and tonite went to the neighbor's house to help set up their wi-fi. THEN, ate a juicy hamburger and plopped down in the chair to surf blogs.
You've got the right idea, Penny! Snuggle in - the sun will come back and there will be lots of time for photos. You've had such a busy time so far that a little break is probably in order!
You certainly deserve a day off sitting by the fire! I hope you enjoyed it to the fullest. It was warm and rainy today, around 50 degrees, and sloppy from melting snow. Went to see Le Mis with daughter (fantastic movie!), and worked on a few things for etsy.
Reading a good book is always an excellent choice on a rainy day. Save chores for tomorrow.

Hi Penny!
Just stopping by and finding myself lingering in the beautiful pictures of your home. I love the sunny color you chose and the warmth it created in your living room. You have such an eye and talent for creating a lovely home. Hope that your new year is off to a great start my friend!
Hugs,
Dena
We went out to breakfast, and then we made a quick stop at Sam's Club for some things my mother wanted.
Midday we watched the Duke vs NC State men's basketball game. Our "Dukies" lost, but I always say that there is no other team I would rather lose to than NC State - our son's alma mater.
We had pizza for dinner in recognition of National Pizza Week. lol
The walls above the wainscoting in our family room were painted yesterday, and we got everything put back in place today.
You've been working so hard that you deserve to sit for a bit with your feet up! Happy Sunday Penny. :o)
That looks cozy Penny.
I made a wonderful pasts dish, today. I've made it before, but it was especially good on this Winter day.
We have a birthday party to go to tomorrow.G'kid number three. However,we are to have sleet and snow,so our trip south will depend on the weather. Right now it is raining and the temp is 31.
Such a cozy scene. Your mug is so pretty with the toile pattern.
I puttered around the house yesterday, then today we went for a walk along the shore. No big plans for the weekend, just quiet normal days.
What an inviting scene...I hope you enjoyed your much deserved break and "were in the moment." I enjoyed a beautiful weekend which included Sat. afternoon at the beach with my great nephew, lovely neice and sweet sister -- and a little golf this afternoon. The weather in FL has been spectacular - we are cherishing it! Wish you were here!
I love your home! You have such an excellent flair for spotting what goes together! Really beautiful! Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
I would not be able to leave that cozy chair by the fireplace. I spent Sunday in a similar spot keeping DH company for part of the football games.

Nothing better than sitting by the fire with a good book.
I spent all day doing real estate stuff until around 4:00 when I went in search of some fabric to recover the dining room chairs. No luck though!
