The Inside Story

Here are some pictures of the inside of the home we are renting for the year.  It has all new paint, carpet, tile, granite counters etc.  The cabinets are older and except for the new refrigerator the appliances are also older, but they work fine.

As you can see, it is an open concept style home.  The living room, kitchen and dining area are all one big room.

It only has one eating area, so luckily the table below did not sell in the yard sale....because the dining space is too small for my formal dining furniture.  That, along with a lot of other things are stored in the basement.  I will show you that another day.

The picture below shows the view from the kitchen windows.

We hung some of our favorite art on the walls and plopped the furniture in place...that is it.  Simple, easy....a nice break.

Welcome Home,
Penny

  11. What a view! You must be my neighbor--almost. I am on the other side of thee mountain in East Tennessee. When I travel to the top of the mountains outside of Asheville I am always amazed at the wonder of it all.

  12. It looks great. I don't know how you did it though. Moving from the house that you worked so hard on to this one that doesn't yet have your signature on it. I guess I get too attached to things. This house looks like it's providing everything you need. I hope it's providing everything you want too.

  19. Catching up with you this evening Penny as I have been quite busy deconstructing my Mom's 60+ years household goods as her house was recently sold. It has been a big job, sad at times. We've donated, sold, and had things carted away after we bagged them up. I will be curious to see how the young man who brought her house will bring it back to life with a family one day.

You and your husband do such a wonderful job on every house you have rescued, Penny. I'm sure your "forever home" will be a combination of all of them one day! Enjoy your year off from renovating. Hope you get to do some travel!

  24. Gasp! OMG Penny. I went to stop by and say hello and I haven't been here in a bit, and then I saw your post and scrambled down to catch up.

OMG! I can't believe that. I didn't know you were house whispers. I just thought you loved fixing things up around your home. I always envied your energy.

At first, I thought how can you do that, don't you just miss everything. Then I remembered myself. I have moved 28 times in my life, and moving around the world. Each home has been glorious, but leaving was easier knowing that it was temporary.

I love moving actually because everything takes on a new personality when you move. I always find it fascinating that I don't miss the other places where I have lived before. I still miss Hong Kong, but not the home, more the chapter with the people who shared the adventure.

It is a nice break to just rest. Your home, well I think that is the place where you and Mr. Comfort share together.

    Karen

P.S. I think I'll stop by more often to read about your new adventure.
