Gone Away is The Blue Bird

You know the lyrics in the song, Winter Wonderland, that says, "Gone away is the bluebird, here to stay is the new bird"?
picture taken in my back yard 12/14/11

I guess this little guy didn't get the message :-)

What is it like in your Winter Wonderland?  Do you have snow?
Welcome Home,
Penny

Oh how pretty. I love bluebirds. W

arm, no snow here in Florida. Maybe we'll get some in the mountains for Christmas. Okay as long as we don't get snowed in.

What a great picture! I haven't seen any bluebirds around here in a while. We have a bird house and bird bath right outside our kitchen window which is usually where we see them. I'm happy to report we are experiencing warm weather in the afternoon. The mornings and nights are still cold though. I kind of like it though since I have so much running around to do. I hate getting out in the cold (unless it's snowing)! Ha!

He's very handsome. Looks like he loves having his picture made too.

What a beautiful bird to linger. Bluebirds are so pretty and I'm glad that he's staying longer. Lots of rain and no snow yet.

Great pic. I wish our scrub jays would make an appearance... none last year, at least in my yard.

Good Morning Penny!

Today it is rainy outside…it snowed in the mountains this morning.

We had wood burning restrictions for the last eight days, but this morning I get to enjoy my fire again!

We have hummingbirds that feed outside our front window.

This is a lovely photo.

Sweet bluebird.
No snow around here. But I did see a field of snow geese the other day, white against the brown field.

What a sweet picture, Penny! Do you normally not see them during the winter months?

We have been having warmer temps...in the 40's but no snow yet. Rain, yes. Ugh!

XO,
Jane

Gone away are my bluebirds, now I know where they are:>) It's rainy any in the 50's here. Balmy and breezy and I have to admit rain is easier to deal with than snow!

Cute! No snow yet by me, but it's coming.

Your visitor is such a pretty blue. We don't get snow by the Bay and so far there has been none in the Mts. Fine with me :-)

The threatened snow hasn't arrived and it is quite mild this morning. That makes me happy!

Gorgeous bluebird. I just love that particular shade of blue!

You asked about the weather... here in northerly Alberta, Canada, the large dumps of snow we got in November has now melted away, as a result of unusually warm temperatures this month. It's lovely for being out it and doing errands, but it feels odd not to have snow piled in mounds 'round Christmas time.
