Reality Shot

Today I am linking up with Claudia at Mockingbird Hill Cottage for Reality Shot Thursday.

As you know, I have a couple of projects I have been working on that have stalled, due to waiting for waxes and tools to arrive.  I have been working on these projects in my loft area.

Normally the loft looks like this....

But since, I am painting the big black hutch Louis Blue, and it was in the loft area, that is where I am working.  I am also working on recovering the French settee in the same area.

So for the last two weeks as my projects stalled, this is what the loft area looks like.

The good news is that the dark wax I have been waiting for is coming in today and I am going to pick it up.  So this weekend, I should have the hutch finished! Woohoo!!

Welcome Home,
Penny

The good news is that at least you have a pathway to walk through it all. LOL

I know that you like order so this is very good news. You'll be so happy to get the project finished. It's looking really pretty and what a great place to work...kinda out of the main traffic flow.

I know you must be so happy to know that you can finally finish that hutch. I hate to have undone projects sitting around too long. I can't wait to see it when it's ready. BTW, that was a great tip about freezing bananas. I never thought of that before!

Have a lovely day,

Oooh, is that red toile I see lining the cabinet? Love! Anyone who does projects knows it has to get pretty bad before it gets really pretty:>)

I feel really lucky that we have a store north of the beach that sells the paint...just got three samples this week of some of the new colors...looking forward to trying them out this weekend. Looking forward to seeing the final outcome.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you like that chalk paint. I have a few doors I might want to try it on. Do you think it would hold up well on such a high traffic item? Mimi

Good morning Penny, The color of blue you chose for your hutch is stunning. I have moments of wanting to paint my hutch an accent color but so far I have not had the nerve to attempt such a drastic idea. You just jump right in and do the job. When it is waxed, I know the French look will be complete.

I know you have stacks of plates and they are so pretty. I used to collect them but I don't have a place for them anymore. Won't you miss the mosaics Penny?
Hugs, Jeanne

I wish I had as much energy as you when it comes to tackling home projects. My kids room needs a complete makeover. I keep saying one of these days but so far that day hasn't come. Maybe next month when we have winter break I'll be able to get some things done. Right now I am trying to let a sprained ankle heal. :/ Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

You are a brave soul. I don't have the nerve to show my sewing room. It's my daughter's old room that I've sort of taken over. I have tried to be organized but sometimes I can't keep up. I love the blue cabinet. Hope your wax came in...have a great weekend Penny!
