Start Spreading The News....

New York, New York!

Thanks for hanging around waiting for my blog break to end.  I spent the last couple of days in New York.  I have always wanted to go there and as an early anniversary (June 30th) Mr. Comforts of Home took me there.

We walked and walked and walked all over Manhattan, from Central Park to the Empire State building.

We rode the Staten Island Ferry and I had a wonderful view of the city skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

We ate dinner at Bobby Flay's restaurant, Bar American one night and it was delicious.

After dinner, we went to the "Top of the Rock" at Rockefeller Center and watched the sun set over the city....

The moon to rise.....

and the city lights to come on....

We saw a Broadway Show, Chicago.  Christie Brinkley played the part of Roxie.  We were in the third row and it was fabulous!

We ate NY pizza, went to a deli for bagels, toured the "largest store on earth", Macy's and visited the South Seaport.  We rode a NY taxi (that was an experience!) and took the subway. We strolled through Grand Central Station,  and walked down 5th Avenue.  By the time we were finished we felt like honorary New Yorkers!

The entire time was wonderful.  New York is a fast paced, full of energy city, that just makes you feel alive.

So what have you been up to this week?  I would love to know!
Welcome Home,
Penny

Penny, your trip sounds fabulous. While you were telling everything you did, It made me smile. My four sisters and I went to NY for a week and rented a condo in Manhattan. "We did it all." We did not eat in the American Bar. I wish we had. My biggest joy was seeing the statue of Liberty. We found the taxis to be kind of dirty and no air. The drivers were less than desirable as well. We enjoyed the subway and we saw Mama Mia on Broadway. Also saw 'Movin' On' with Billy Joel's music. My sister's husband's nephew played the piano and sang all the music. I can honestly say we love NY. I need a T-shirt! HA!

You are right, New York is a wonderful trip and it does make you feel alive. This is the best Anniversary present, what a guy. Happy Anniversary on the 30th. Our daughter celebrates 25 years on June 26th. We will be pulling our RV home by then.

Love your photos.
Love, Jeanne

What a fantastic time you two had in NYC!!! It really is "alive" there for sure. I miss going into the City at Christmas time to see the Rockefeller Tree and the ice skaters. Plays in NYC are like no others! Glad you got to do so many different things.

Bobby Flay's restaurant and third row Broadway seats - I would say you did it all. I hope your taxi ride wasn't too scary (they can be).

Happy anniversary to you both and happy Father's day to Mr. Comforts of Home.
