Kitchen Table Redo and A Giveaway!

this giveaway is now over...thanks for entering!  winner announced in next post.
Warning....picture heavy post.  Giveaway announced at the end of the post.

I am finally finished with the kitchen table and chair redo.  We bought this table 9 years ago at a dent and damage sale.  It was stained mahogany.  The chairs were purchased at an unfinished wood furniture store and I originally stained them to match the table.  Here is a picture of them in a previous home in Tennessee.

Then a couple of years ago I painted the chairs black and the table yellow.

Loved the yellow, but it blended into the yellow walls too much.  So I painted the table black.

The black was nice, but I really wanted to lighten up this area of my home.  Even though it has a lot of windows, it faces north west and does not get a lot of light during the day.

So here is the newly painted, stenciled, distressed and glazed table and chairs today.

Now for the GIVEAWAY - See the pretty crystal pear shaped honey jar below?  See the pretty glass honey DIPPER

Here is a close up of the glass honey dipper.

The honey dipper was made by artists who live in Tennessee.  They have an ETSY site, here.  I have TWO of these pretty hand made glass honey dippers (just the dipper, not the jar) to give away.

Just leave a comment on this post to be entered. I will pick two winners via Random.org on Saturday.

Welcome Home,
Penny

What a darling item.
My husband and I have tea during the winter and we add honey instead of sugar. I also love to put honey on my toast. This is so cute.

Your table has had more lives than a cat! I love, love, love the yellow and had missed that incarnation until today.

With the white and the harlequin and the toile seat covers, it has a whole new look...very fresh and very French country. Just lovely. Of course, I know very well that it will have more lives to look forward to if the past is any indication.

Sweet little honey dipper...we do eat honey here. :D

Oh, I'd love to win one of the honey dippers. I'm using a plastic one right now for my morning tea but have been trying to get away from using plastic. Thanks for the chance to win one.

I love what you did with your table and chair set... especially the painted pattern on the table top. Wish I had the courage to do something like that with our table.

Penny, it turned out beautifully! It really looks fabulous ~ I love how the pattern plays off the backsplash in the kitchen. You have such a beautiful home! You asked about our move next year to the Carolinas - we'll be in the Charlotte area. Asheville is one of my favorite places to visit, though - I can't wait to introduce my partner to it, as he's never been there.

Penny,
This came out fantastic. I love designs painted on furniture. Believe it or not back in 1972 I had a square coffee table that was red and blue checkerboard like a huge chessboard. It wasn't in style back then, and my friends thought I was very bold. Wish I still had it.

I love how you softened the white and distressed it a bit. Your home is gorgeous.

Your table and chairs are gorgeous! The table and chairs in my eat-in kitchen are just plain ol' brown (teak wood) and I'm so tempted to paint them - but it seems like such a huge undertaking, I'm not sure where to start! Maybe if I look at your photos long enough and see how beautiful the transformation is, it will finally inspire me to get moving!

Please count me in your giveaway for the honey dipper - what a gorgeous item!
