I finished sewing the curtains for the master bath. My inspiration to add color to my master bath came from this picture of a Sarah Richardson design. I just love her decorating style!
Sarah's House on HGTV
Here is my version below.
In the picture below, you can see the Monet photo that I took in Paris and had enlarged.
I hung this stone shelf and added the vintage yellow vase and flowers on the opposite side of the room from the curtains to balance the color.
In the picture below are two more photos I took while in France last year, enlarged and framed.
I wanted to thank Amy at Maison Decor again, for her guidance and encouragement on the curtain making. I had never made pinch pleat curtains before and Amy convinced me that I could do it.

Penny, they are gorgeous. They look professional and they were your first pinch pleats, wow. Love the warmth the yellow adds to the bathroom.
They are fabulous! I can only imagine how wonderful it is to take a bath in that fantastic bathroom!!
Beautiful, Penny! You did a fantastic job on them! Yours look better than your inspiration pic, I think, because you have a very beautiful window to frame.
They look very soft and romantic! I love what you have done with this bathroom. Your sewing skills have really taken off! Someday I have to learn while that machine of mine gathers dust!
XO,
Jane
Just gorgeous Penny!
That yellow is a vibrant, happy color and you did a great job working from that inspiration photo. Your bathroom is very pretty and the curtains are lovely. Have a great rest of the week. Tammy
Penny,
Yours is much more beautiful than the photo your based it on!!! I think when you are done with all these tasks you should gather all the photos of completed rooms and make a coffee table book. I'll buy one :-)
Hugs!
I love the print and color of the curtains. You did a great job.
You've done a fantastic job on your bathroom, Penny. I'm in awe. Sarah Richardson would be thrilled!

Hi Penny,
Beautiful and very pretty! You did an amazing job on your curtains and the fabric is so bright and happy. I think I could soak in the tub all day long and just take in the beauty of the room.
Two thumbs up!
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth
Penny, Shhh.. don't tell Sarah but I like yours better. It's absolutely beautiful and I'm envious. You did a wonderful job on the draperies. I know you're proud of your new bath.. and rightly so. Well done.
Babs
I'm with Babs. Your bathroom is gorgeous with the fabulous new curtains. You outdid Sarah and that is a triumph. Not just the curtains because the addition of the photo and touches of yellow, did the design trick. Nice job Penny.
Thanks for your comment and well wishes for our trip to Maine. I will be posting from there and I am excited to find some new blog interests.
You are a busy bee. I will be back soon.
Love ya, Jeanne
Penny, that is beautiful! Yours is prettier than Sarah's.
I have to agree, I think your bathroom is even prettier than the inspiration. Great job on the drapery panels!
Oh my gosh Penny, I love them! I think your bath looks even prettier than your inspiration room! Love the sunny color of the curtains and all the little touches you added:>) SO pretty!
It turned out so beautifully. Some magazine will be calling you shortly. I love your interpretation even more than the one you used as your guideline. Well, except for her yellow tub...now that is cool. Well done, Penny!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Penny they are fabulous!!! Your bathroom is gorgeous.
I fell in love with that fabric when I saw it on Sarah's show. I have had my eye out for some ever since to use in our bathroom.
Kudos to you.♥
Just like a magazine spread beautiful job. I think art in the bathroom is such a classy touch and taking the colours from it in the accessories and flowers is the way to go :)

Oh Penny - you did a wonderful job. I just paid to have two sets made for the guest room and when I think of what I could have done with the $$$ I could weep. I am so impressed with the beautiful curtains and your entire bathroom.
Your bathroom is just beautiful - it far exceeds Sarah Richardson's one. The bath, the stained glass window, the Monet, the curtains - everything is just lovely. I am your newest follower. x Sharon (South Africa)
Now that is a bathroom I could soak in for hours. Just lovely.
Just beautiful, everything in your bath!!
Love it! What a great idea to use Sarah's house for inspiration! I love her work and yours is beautiful!
OMG!!!! Penny I am NOT just saying this - your version is ten times better than Sarah's! You nailed it! I am so green with envy but happy for you that you get to spend down time in such a fabulous space!!

Absolutely gorgeous, Penny! I LOVE how the curtains turned out and I love the cheery yellow in the bathroom. Your photos really turned out fabulously, too.
Just stunning, Penny, dear. You did an awesome job and they look sooo FRENCH. A beautiful room.
Hello Penny,
Your cutains and bath looks more beautiful than the original version. I love those tubs, and your Paris photos are fabulous. A good idea to blow up the Monet. We both love shots of the flower markets, I just can't resist.
Have a good day,
Mimi
I LOVE the new look of your bathroom. Your drapes are wonderful and I'm just a bit jealous! Of course you know I love yellow.

Wow Penny, yours turned out even more lovely than Sarah's. Your bathroom is gorgeous. I love Sarah, I used to watch her when I lived in Toronto. I love watching her new show because I get to walk down the streets of Toronto again. There are some amazing interior shops on Queens Street, where she is always peeking in an out of, and I miss them. Karen
Penny, your bathroom looks amazing. I am a huge Sarah Richardson fan, and I agree with the others, I think yours looks even better! I'd love to add this to the inspiration galleries on my site and include you in a feature post. Let me know if you're interested!
WOW Penny, I missed this post but just saw it on Kim's features. It is stunning..Love the tub, love the curtains, and the touch of yellows are super! Have a great day.
I'm a huge Sarah fan, I must say that you took her inspiration and kicked it up a few notches. Your bathroom is gorgeous! and the curtains turned out perfectly. Wow, great job all around.
Somehow I missed this post last week, Penny, but WOW did you ever hit it out of the ballpark! What you created is so much better than the inspiration!
I also love Sarah's style. What you did is so lovely. Great job on your curtains. I love the way sewing your own curtains enables you to have any look you want, at a reasonable price. Your bathroom looks so stylish and cozy at the same time. I just became a follower, and I look forward to browsing your other posts.
I'm a HUGE Sarah Richardson fan and when I first saw the picture of your bath I honestly thought it was hers! Well done!!! If you don't mind my asking, where did you buy the yellow fabric for the curtain? They're lovely and so happy looking!
Lovely bathroom. I like yours better-your window is beautiful. It is a very pretty room and I came away with inspiration to enlarge some of my Monet Garden pictures. Thank you.
