Now that spring is getting closer, I am going to take a blog/computer break and spend a few weeks planning my potager and my country French outdoor living space.

Above is an inspiration photo.

I also purchased a new camera... A Canon Rebel xsi SLR camera.  I am looking forward to learning how to use it while on my blogging/computer break.

Even though I won't be blogging, I have scheduled several posts to be published during my computer break.  They will have some wonderful porch decorating ideas.

When I return to blogging, I will be having a   giveaway.  So keep your eye open for the giveaway date.  Sign up as a follower and you won't miss anything!

p.s. since I won't be checking my computer, I am turning off "comments" while I take my break.  I will also stop accepting anonymous comments during my break.  See you about April 5-6....

Did I ever show you this lamp?  There are actually two of them.

The pair sit on a table behind my couch.
Don't you just love fun, lamps?

Splitting Hares

I would like to introduce you to two friends of mine.  Pierre and Isabelle Lapin (French for Rabbit).

(oops, I see Isabelle has a little candle wax on her nose)

They are a pair of heavy metal candle holders that we purchased while on vacation in the California wine country 5 years ago.  Sometimes I display them next to each other.  Sometimes apart.

Currently they are on the second shelf of the bakers rack (click on the pictures to enlarge) in my dining room....waiting for some candles and waiting to sit on the dinner table casting romantic light.

A Lofty Idea

This is the the loft area in our house.  Right now it is just a catch all.  Everything we didn't know what to do with ended up here.

Another shot from the far end of the loft area....It is narrow and long.

Wouldn't it be cool if I could create a library up here? Like this one below?
Of course on a much smaller scale :-).

Spring "Nesting"

This is the first weekend in over a month that the sun is shining and it is not snowing!

Spring is on it's way.

I think I am going to have fun using my side buffet in my dining room as a place to create vignettes.
I gathered some cloches, an apothacary jar, vintage garden books and some faux nests.

Along with a chippy bird candle holder and some fresh tulips, it is starting to look like spring.

Is spring arriving where you live?

You Meet The Sweetest People Here!

You meet the sweetest people in blogland.  I received this package from Judi at Cranberry Blossoms the other day.

She said she saw it and immediately thought of me.
Does that ever happen to you when you are out shopping?  We might not meet in real life, but we know each others likes and dislikes, just as if we have been best friends since childhood.

Thank you Judi!  You are so sweet and thoughtful!  I love them....

I also received these fabulous French Fleur de Lis gift bags in the mail.
Aren't they wonderful?  I won them in a giveaway that Lisa of Pickles and Cheese had.  She is going to be selling these in her ETSY shop, I believe.

It's snowing again today....It is beautiful....
Hurry Up Spring!

Welcome Home,
p.s. only one more day to vote on the post on my right sidebar....
