I Will Follow......you!

Some of you are probably not old enough to remember this song, by Little Peggy March.  You might remember it when Whoopi Goldberg sang it in Sister Act.  Click on it and listen...go on...I will wait....

I loved that song when I was young!  Anyhooo, I started thinking about that song today.  Because for the longest time I was keeping up with all of you by adding you to my google reader.  Then Google Follower came around and I added it to my side bar to make it easy for you to keep up.  But I wasn't following any of you as a "follower" just through Google Reader.

Well today, I started "following you" all.  I have been clicking on all of your blogs and you will see my smiling face on your side bar.

If I am not there yet, I will be there in the next day or two.  And if you don't see me, please let me know, so I can come sign up to follow you.

Because you all are the reason I am hear writing this silly blog about my house, garden and life.  And I really, truly want to know about yours too!
Welcome Home,
Penny
p.s. if you aren't following me I would love it if you would!

Oh yes.. I remember it well. That was a great song! AND I remember American Bandstand. Always rushed home to watch it after school. Gosh, those lucky teenagers had such a fun place to go to.
Thanks for the memories!
Have a great week... and I do follow you.

Hi Penny,
I loved watching American Bandstand, I would turn on the vacuum and pretend to be cleaning my room, but I was really secretly watching Dick Clark and all those groovy dancers on the b&w tv in my room. I don't think my mom was fooled!!
I hope you will follow me, I've had you on my list for a long time, and we are fellow shackster sisters after all!
BTW - I think your bedroom already looks pretty calm and inviting. Love the new lamp shade!

I found you and became a follower a few weeks ago...and I am so happy I did! I love your posts. I know just what you mean, there's something very special when we receive comments and know we are not just talking to ourselves! Ahh, I remember the song well. Little Peggy March. We were so fortunate to have grown up in that time.

P.S. Penny, one of our blogging friends from Normandy France asked us to tell a story about her Antique linen. Well, I couldn't resist, I love telling stories. She has the most enchanting guest house for rent as well, just an hour from Paris. Stop by for the links, and if you have time, for the story.

She STILL has a fabulous voice, doesn't she? Some old timer's voices fail them with age but she's still got a great set of pipes on her. Thanks for the post of the video!

Hi Penny, You do have a huge following!!!! I don't pay as much attention to my followers (since so many of them never leave comments) as I do to the people who comment on my blog. Those are the important ones to me...

I go to the Google Updater and catch up with others' blogs there (who are on ly followers' list)... That seems to work for me--but I'll be honest and say that as much as I love blogging, it does take up alot of time.. I don't ever want to get overwhelmed --and then start resenting it... So far, I don't....

Good Luck with your new set-up...
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Betsy,
I am responding to your comment above where you said,

"I don't pay as much attention to my followers (since so many of them never leave comments) as I do to the people who comment on my blog. Those are the important ones to me... "

That is where you and I differ. I appreciate everyone that reads my blog. I know that there are people out there that are uncomfortable about leaving a comment on the internet, but still enjoy reading about decorating, recipes, gardening, raising children etc.

So I really appreciate the fact that they signed up to follow me.

I'm not even sure why I have this snobby idea about Followers and being a follower. Perhaps I need to give it up...the "not following" and the "you shouldn't have to follow" either thing. Okay, I'll follow you. ;D But you know, Penny, that I've really followed you for years now. At least three. :D

Vee said...

I tried. Honestly. It wouldn't work. Took me just so far and conked out on the final step and said that the web page could not be found.

I've been a follower of your blog ever since Blogger let us put that put that gadget up! :) I also appreciate everyone who follows me --it's a compliment to know someone values my blog enough to want to read it. I do wish there were more hours in the day to visit everyone more frequently. I'm a reader and I often "get lost" on the internet for hours reading one blog's links. It's so enjoyable!
PS Love your new header photo!
