Rainy Day

When I woke up today it was raining. A steady drenching rain. I spent the morning and most of the afternoon in my studio working on mosaics. Here is the rainy day view out of my studio window. Click the picture to enlarge and you can see the fog drifting over the rainy mountain top.

At 2:30, I did what any smart gal would do on a rainy afternoon....I made a pot of coffee, cut a slice of fresh, homemade banana bread and grabbed one of my favorite magazines.

I spent the next half hour relaxing and enjoyed the rain.

Whether it is rainy or sunny at your home today, I hope you take some time to just enjoy the day.
Welcome Home,

It sounds like you've found the best way to spend a rainy afternoon. Lucky that you had a new CL magazine and some fresh banana bread on hand!

Penny, and I do enjoy the day. Now you got me to thinking of banana bread, I don't have bananas so I guess I need to get some and wait till they soften a bit. What a beautiful view you have outside your studio window, lucky you. Have a great Thursday.

it's raining right now, with intermittent thunderstorms predicted throughout the evening. I have some bananas that are over ripe...sounds like a perfect time to use them:>)

It's raining way up here, too. These weather patterns make me curious. Now I'm off to see what the country looks like at Accuweather. Ahh, good news for you...looks as if your weather will clear soon. I, on the other hand, need to buy a canoe.

Oh, how I wish you could send us some of that rain. West Texas is dry, as usual..clouds up in the evenings and we do a little rain dance here at Sweet Nothings, far...NOTHING..
That Banana Bread is one of my favorite things!!

After last year's drought, I am so glad that we are having rain but trying to get motivated with all the rain has been a challenge. The gray weather and gentle rains that seem to happen every afternoon make me want to curl up to read and that won't work in an office setting!

I came hope tonight to check on my dahlias and it looks like one of the plants is getting droopy from the wet soil. Hopefully it is going to dry out some this weekend.

Wish I could join you for your coffee break!

I love that picture, what a view. There is something about fog that I really like. I act like I have never seen it before. Ours is always on the ground.
Any day is a good day that involves bannana bread and Country Living.

Hello Sweet Penny, First I want to say I love the area you are in. Wow what a view!! I think you nail it down spending the day like you did surrounding yourself with some goodies. I love banana nut bread- I have been known to bake some good ones. In fact I have quite a few bananas in the freezer, maybe thats what I should be doing- making some.

Hi Penny
The weeds are taking over! Every time I decide to spend some time in the garden it rains again! I'm going ot try again now and hoepefully get some done. What a contrast with the drought we've had the last 2 years.
Your new photo is very cute!

Hi Penny,

At least our mornings have been rain free so far. But every afternoon the rains start! I love the mag I used to have a subscription (we're so alike)!

It's raining here too, been raining for the last few days. I kind of like it when it rains, besides all the greens that come alive, I can work in my studio and not feel guilty that I am missing some glorious day.

Happy Weekend.

It's been rainy, gray and drizzly here, too! I don't have lovely views of fog rolling over the mountain peaks! I have to settle for fog lifting off of the ocean, LOL! :)
