Bits and Pieces

What makes a house a home? I think it is the little details. The "bits and pieces" than make a home comfortable. Here are some of my "bits and pieces".

The ornate arm on a lamp, along with the crackle finish.

Pom Pom fringe on a pillow.

A seashell from a walk on the beach, while on vacation and a piece of coral my Mom and Dad brought back from Hawaii in the late 60's before we realized that was bad for the environment.

My Dad's walking stick and a blue umbrella in a stand made from a vintage wine barrel, next to my front door.

Skeleton keys in my grandfather clock.
These are some of my bits and pieces....
Welcome Home,
Penny

You are so right Penny. It's those bits and pieces that 'share" and "tell" who we are to all those who enter.
Enjoy your day!

I've never thought about the bits and pieces and how important they are...kind of a the delight is in the details. You have lots of great things...love that chunk of coral. (I enjoy my conch shell very much...perhaps I should display it somewhere besides the commode...ewwww.)

I couldn"t agree with you more> the little bits and pieces make a home feel more inviting and cozy> not to mention it tells a bit about the person>

Have a happy day

Hi Penny, Well thanks for setting me straight on the coral thing! HA! I did actually know that taking coral was banned, but putting two and two together?? I can only blame my wonderful children for killing all of my good brain cells (I think they come out at birth).LOL! Thanks Penny!!
Btw, my mom used to make my siblings and I eat paella when we were little. I remember not being able to leave the table and sitting there for what seemed like hours!! Now I love it!
