My Adopted Blog Dog

I have mentioned my adopted blog dog, Cricket before. So many of you have sweet dogs and I have so much fun looking at their pictures on your posts.

We don't have a dog right now. We are thinking seriously about getting one (I mentioned that a while back on a post). But we do have our neighbors dog, Cricket. She is a long haired Chihuahua.

Cricket visits us every day for a dog treat. She comes to our door and barks, until we open it and let her in. She knows the cupboard the dog treats are in and she runs there and waits until we give her one.
Cricket does not like having her picture taken. When I try, she usually puts her ears down and crawls away. I was outside snapping pictures the other day and she came to visit. While she was busy "guarding" me, I quickly snapped this picture.
Some day, I will have a dog of my own, but until then, I have Cricket.
Welcome Home,
Penny

  1. Hi Penny

Cricket is such a cute little dog! Your situation with her is like being a grandmother -- all of the fun, none of the work! :-)

    Happy Day!

    Hugs, Pat

  2. Remind me to show you a picture of our Daisy some time. She looks like the dog in the Our Gang movies. Black eye circle and all. She makes me laugh.

  3. Penny, if I were you I might be inclined to continue enjoying Cricket...You know I have two dogs but I think having all the advantages and none of the work would be pretty ok!! I do understand the need to have a cuddly though.

  5. Penny,I think that Cricket is so cute. I plan on getting another inside dog again one day. I don't know if it will be another Sheltie or maybe a maltese. I will wait a while though. I'm still so sad about my Sassy. I had her a long time. I think it would be a great idea for you and your hubby to get a dog. They become part of the family. I can already picture in my mind a mosaic doggie bowl. LOL

  8. Hi Penny...

You have a cute blog dog!! That's maybe what I should do...adopt a dog...for our blog. I'll have to look into that.

I wish I could have a dog...but with allergies and asthma, that's not something I care to do.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  11. I couldn't be without the love of a dog. They are so giving and very intelligent, no matter what people say. Dogs have a heart of gold. I know that from my experieces with them. Get one penny, you'll be happy you did.

  12. Hi Penny
Your blog dog is very cute. I love to see the pictures of people's dogs on their blog and wish I had one to photograph too. Borrowing a neighbor's dog is the perfect solution!

  16. Cricket is just the cutest. Why would she be camera shy when she has so much to flaunt.
How sweet of you to give her a treat.

    Have a happy day

  17. I think having a pet "neighbor dog" is perfect. Just like grandkids, you get to enjoy and spoil them and then send them home:>)

  18. Hi, Penny What A Smartie those Chihuahuas are! I have a Yorki-Chi, (when I was little they calld them Muts, :)) She is A Cutsie, the kind of face only a mother could love...she was a whole 1.5 lbs of silly fluff when I got her, now she is a little chubby 6 pounder. Anyway, I just have to share her picture...It's on my Blog. Since I haven't blogged much this week, this will surely get me started! She acts more like a Chihuahua, for that reason and her size, I would highly recommend the breed. But Sorry to say...My Lena is Not For Sale ...:) he, he, he , you'll know what I mean when you see her! :)

  22. She's a cutie! Maxie doesn't like having his photo taken either. I usually have to distract him or sneak and take it!

  23. Oh I love Cricket! I remember you posted a video of him once, such a cutie! My Ernie is camera shy too. Even when I turn the sound off the camera. I wonder what they think cameras are? xo

  24. Like Natasha, I remember the video you did on Cricket some time back. What a cute dog!!!! I hope that someday you will find the perfect dog to bring home.

Penny, those birds are just too cute! I am still wanting to chat with you about a birdhouse done in red transferware...or brown...most likely red. Red and white would go nicely in our home.

    much love,
    Becky

Oh Penny! I need to email you later this evening or tomorrow about it all...we can't come to NC. I am sad about that but Bill promises he will get me there as soon as we can. Quite possibly later this year. He is being sent to a conference in DC the week of Spring break and wants us to go with him. Of course it will be a nice trip but not what I had hoped...meeting you in person was something I have been so excited about doing! I am so sorry...we had our reservation at th doubletree in Ashville and were really looking forward to it! *sigh*
    But there is later right??

Take care and smile bacuse Spring is right around the corner!

    Love and hugs,
    Sue
