Fun With A New Friend!

Guess what I did yesterday? I met a blogging friend! Gretchen of Birds Nest Cottage lives about an hour away from me near Greenville SC. We have been visiting each others blogs and emailing back and forth for some time now.

So yesterday, I drove to Greenville and met Gretchen at one of my favorite antique malls. Gretchen is so much fun! And after spending about 5 minutes with her I felt I knew her forever!

After hitting a couple of antique malls, Gretchen took me to lunch at the most wonderful restaurant. It had tin ceilings, little rooms filled with tables and great food.

They also had a really pretty Christmas display and I took Gretchen's picture in front of it. Do you see her Santa pin? Gretchen collects Santas...You will have to go visit her blog and see them! Below is another shot of the restaurant

After lunch we went to a great garden art place. It was filled with glazed pots, statues, gazebos, fountains and more.

Look at this sweet cherub. Now I wish I would have bought her.

But, I did purchase this fun country French rooster for my garden! Can't you just see it filled with a pot of ivy? As the ivy grows it could be trained around the rooster to create a topiary.

Gretchen surprised me with a sweet gift too! A Yankee candle that smells like Christmas cookies! A sweet Santa pin, a little pad of paper and of course a birds nest!

Thank you again Gretchen! I had the most wonderful time. I am looking forward to doing it again.
Welcome Home,

I had a great time too. I'm kicking myself for not getting one of those roosters or chickens like yours. I may have to go back to that patio shop.

Can't wait for our next expedition.

I think it is so neat how many women are becoming friends through blogging. I have plans to meet a few in person also. I think we need a huge bloggers convention.

So great to find another Western NC blogger! And we live so close to one another. I live in Connestee Falls, about 9 miles up the mountain from Brevard. We visit Hendersonville often. I will enjoy following your blog and reading the archives. Perhaps our paths will cross as well.

You have met another new friend. I bet you never thought that would happen when you started blogging. I have said it before I think of all the people I have met while blogging, as the pen pals I never had when I was young.
Your home is just so pretty. I love red and yellow together. I also love roosters.
Thanks for sharing all your pictures. I love visiting!
Just been finding enough time to create, post and tend to everyday life! And enjoy a cup of coffee and catch up now and then!

I know that y'all had the best time! I think that is so neat that you have been able to meet a lot of your blogging friends.

I had that same rooster and I put it in my booth and sold it the very next day. I didn't know what to do with it so I sold it. Your idea is a great one!
Hugs, Lee Laurie
